Sanchar Saathi Portal – Block Lost Mobile in India: Sanchar Saathi Portal is a citizen-centric platform launched by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, to empower mobile users and enhance security through fraud prevention and the ability to block lost mobile numbers.
Through this portal, citizens can efficiently monitor mobile connections, verify their own numbers, report unidentified mobile numbers, and report fraudulent calls and messages.
Cases involving financial fraud and the misuse of mobile numbers registered with someone else’s name are increasingly common today.
To prevent such misuse, the Government of India launched this portal, where users can report suspected fraudulent calls and messages, block or track stolen mobile phones, verify device authenticity, and report unsolicited commercial communications (spam).

Here is the process to use the Sanchar Saathi Portal:
1. Visit the official website of Sanchar Saathi Portal.

2. Report Suspected Fraud Communication: From here you can report suspected fraud communication. This facility is called “Chakshu“. It facilitates citizens to report suspected fraud communications with the intention of defrauding telecom service users for cybercrime, financial frauds, non-bonafide purposes like impersonation, or any other misuse through Call, SMS, or WhatsApp. The most common examples of suspected fraud communications are communications related to Bank Account / Payment Wallet / SIM / Gas connection / Electricity connection / KYC update / expiry / deactivation, impersonation as Government official / relative, sextortion-related, etc.
3. Block Your Lost / Stolen Mobile Handset: Here you will find the facility for blocking/stolen mobile handset, unblocking of found mobile handset, and checking lost/stolen mobile handset request status. After availing this service, you will get a service request number. You can retrieve the service request number from the “Forgot Request ID” option.
4. Know Your Mobile Number: Here you can check whether any mobile number is registered in your name or not. You can report if any mobile number you really do not own. If the number is yours, then you can also certify it. Just put the primary mobile number and enter the OTP, and then you can see the other numbers registered with your name.
5. Know Genuineness of Your Mobile Handset: Sometimes miscreants sell stolen or lost mobile phones to customers, and then they face different problems like calls from police or going to court, etc. While you are buying the phone, check the authenticity of the mobile phone from this portal. You just need to put your phone number and the IMEI number of your phone, and the portal will show the brand name, model name, and marketing company, etc.
6. Report Incoming International Call With Indian Number: International calls and spams, fraud calls are a daily headache for mobile users. This portal comes with a solution. Just put your mobile number, the number showing during the international call, and the date and time of the call. Then an OTP will come to your mobile. Just put the OTP and then necessary action will be taken from this portal.
